I am a Malaysian-born, ethnic Chinese, Canadian citizen living in New York City. I come from a family of cooks. Not professional cooks, just people who love to cook and, of course, love to eat. My grandmother (Ah Mah) was well-known in Malaysia for her delicious Nyonya cooking. And, I grew up watching my mother carefully prepare the ingredients to make her mother’s dishes. However, their instructions for cooking involved a lot of adding “a little bit of this and a little bit of that.” This blog seeks to find the true quantities to their ingredients.
